Wet'nWild 8-pan Palettes

The new WnW 8 pan palettes are now available at Walgreen's and Wal-Mart. They retail for $4.99 each. There are 3 palettes available: Comfort Zone, Petal Pusher, and Blue Had Me At Hello. I did not purchase Blue Had Me At Hello. These palettes are not limited edition and can be found in the normal WnW display.

Petal Pusher

This palette is light, feminine, and evokes floral images and spring feelings. There is a mix of matte, shimmery, and glittery shades that allow you to create many different looks.

The first two shades are matte. They are beautiful, but weak in pigmentation. The shimmery purple is lovely. The glittery purple is very similar to the shimmery one, but slightly more blue-toned.

The first pink shade is probably my favorite in this palette. It is practically luminous and lovely as a highlight or in the inner corner of the eye. The cranberry shade has a definite purple base when swatched. The darker shades are very nice and extremely pigmented, but just a bit too dark for my personal preferences.

This palette contains more neutral colors. The selection of colors seems very earthy and mossy and can even remind me of military greens and khakis. Many of these shades have an almost metallic finish, creating a colorful glow.

These colors are soft and pigmented and can easily create a smooth neutral look. The second shade is very different on the eye than in the pan- much more copper than champagne. The fourth color makes an excellent liner.

The first color is a mossy green that is very different from anything I own. It seems very versatile and I predict that I will use this often come spring. The second color is a lovely grassy green that is very pigmented and beautiful, but almost too soft. The third color was gorgeous as a liner, and the fourth color is a great dupe for Club by MAC.

Overall, I am very happy with these palettes. If you are interested in them, head out to Walgreen's or Wal-Mart and pick them up. They are flying off the shelves! Hats off, yet again, to Wet'nWild for another quality product.

Wet'nWild Eyeshadow Trios- New for 2011

As I'm sure you can tell, I love the WnW ColorIcon palettes from last year. I found the shadows to be pigmented, smooth, and blendable. The Lust palette even made it into my top products of 2010! When I heard about the new trios, I decided to try them out. I found them last night at my local Rite Aid. I must say, they're pretty cool. I'll have palette pics and swatches up tomorrow night, but for now you can check out my review on YouTube.

Each palette contains three shadows- eyelid, crease, and brow bone. The shadows are stamped with placement directions to help you create a specific look. You can use them however you like, but the directions serve as a nice guide.

Here are some brief descriptions:

I Dream of Greenie is very pretty, but also a little bright. It screams 'spring' to me. (It has a lime lid color, seafoam for the crease, and mint highlight).

Silent Treatment is a nice neutral trio, lovely pigmentation and smooth blending. This is a perfect set to keep in your purse, travel bag, etc. (Taupe lid, brown glittery crease, peach highlight.)

Spoiled Brat was cool, but you lose a little glitter after you blend. I'm not sure how often I'd wear this, but it would definitely be an attention grabber. (Magenta lid, black glittery crease, silver highlight).

I Got Good Jeans was a real surprise. I almost didn't buy it because I thought the combo would look garish. It actually creates a nice smoky eye with a unique pop of gold on the lid. (gold lid, navy shimmer crease, silvery blue highlight)

I was least impressed with I'm Feeling Retro, simply because the color combo doesn't flatter my coloring or style. The colors are still very pretty and definitely retro. (purple lid, teal crease, white shimmery highlight)

I didn't buy I'm Getting Sunburned because I knew I would never use it. I have so many browns and I don't like pink shadows.

I feel like the combos look best if you put the colors where they tell you to, however the silver highlights look a bit over the top. All in all, they're great products and perfect if you like bright colors. The pigmentation, color selection, and textures you get in these trios simply cannot be beat, especially not at this fabulous price!

Also, they're on sale at Rite Aid for $1.99 each

Recession Special #1: Wet'nWild ColorIcon Palette in Lust

Wet'nWild has always been known for its ultra cheap makeup- both in price and quality. The shadows were powdery, lipstick waxy, and everything had some odd smell I could never quite put my finger on. A few weeks ago, I was watching a video on YT and chuckled when I saw someone using a WnW palette. However, when I saw the results, I was shocked. There was actual color! I quickly searched reviews and found that WnW had reformulated a lot of their products and had actually made better quality products.

I headed out to Walgreens and bought a ColorIcon palette in Lust, the palette with the best reviews on MakeupAlley. It was $4.99 for 6 shadows, 3 matte and 3 shimmer/glitter. The colors range from a deep, blackened purple to a shimmery cream. They are all higly pigmented and blend exceptionally well. I recommend using a primer, particularly Urban Decay's Primer Potion for Eyes. I used a paint pot from MAC and found that the darker colors didn't blend as well. I generally use the darker colors in the crease, pink on the lid, and cream as a highlight. The steele color is great when mixed into a liquid liner. For a little more fun, add some glitter or shimmer over the matte colors!

Despite my initial doubts, I really do love this product. I have used it many times and love the results. I will definitely go back and buy more of these palettes.

Stay beautiful, babes!
